Interview
1. The business idea:
SaveSpace was founded by Tamara Krauss, Kelvin Kassis, and HSG alumnus Max Bieri. The team is building Europe’s storage platform that connects customers, operators, and space owners. The two models:
a) Remote Storage with pick-up and delivery across ex-urban storage facilities. Private and business customers can store their items digitally in less than five minutes.
b) Access Storage through partner facilities with a digital access system. Making analogue self-storage operators digitally bookable and manageable.
2. The best thing about self-employment:
It never gets boring. Entrepreneurship is the most honest and toughest school of life. It shows you every day who you are, what you believe in, and what truly drives you.
3. The most valuable experience:
Startups die by suicide and not by death. Many startups fail not because of the market or business model, but because of execution. That’s why exceptional talent, good hiring, and strong co-founder relations are essential.
4. The biggest challenge:
Bringing speed and quality into alignment.
5. A tip for future founders:
Start with real customer problems, not with an idea. Stay focused even when things get noisy. In the end, it’s not how good your idea is that matters, but how consistently you execute it.
6. I am grateful to the HSG for this:
Talent and network.
7. I could use support from other alumnae or alumni for this:
For exchanges with other founders and with alumni who operate self-storage facilities themselves, have unused space in their properties, or can help us access further B2B partners that rely on a flexible service like SaveSpace.
8. Targets for the current year (2025)
To make SaveSpace available throughout the entire DACH region, successfully complete our market entry in Switzerland, and lay the foundation for further international growth in 2026.
