Last Wednesday, 29 March, the Loughborough College Esports team (the Loughborough Lycans Rocket League Team) won the National BETT Invitational Tournament in Rocket League at the ExCel, London, for the second year running.

The Loughborough College Lycans Rocket League team won all of their matches to win the Esports Invitational Tournament, in partnership with British Esports, at the BETT at the ExCel, London.

Last Wednesday, four Rocket League teams currently competing in the Student Champs came together in London for a knock-out tournament live from the Esports stage.

The team won their fixtures with wins against Chichester College and Barnsley College. There were many close games, but the team triumphed in the final against Chichester College to take the series 3-1 and the trophy and title home.

Danny Lee, Curriculum Manager for Sport & Esports at Loughborough College, said, “To win the BETT Invitational Tournament again at the Excel is amazing! The team had to dig deep and played fantastically well together to overcome a very good Chichester College side in the final. The team has had a great season and have a good chance of getting to the British Esports LANs in Nottingham for the UK championships in June.”
